Grant Writing for Nonprofit Organizations online course

This grant writing course offered online covers essential skills such as researching grant opportunities, writing proposals, and crafting Letters of Inquiry (LOI), alongside budget preparation for both Foundation Grants and Corporate Grants.


This course is ideal for beginner grant writers who volunteer or work for a Charitable Nonprofit Organization (501c3) and are eager to enhance their skills in nonprofit funding.


Prerequisites:


No prior grant writing experience is required.


No prior budgeting experience is needed.


Students who excel at learning through reading will find this course particularly suitable.


Computer and E-mail Requirements:


A computer with any operating system and internet access is necessary. A phone does not meet this standard.


A functioning e-mail account is required.


Software needed includes MS Word, Excel, and Adobe Reader.


All learning is conducted individually; there are no group assignments. This course is competency-based and self-paced, consisting of several sections, each with course materials to read and an assignment to complete and submit to the online instructor. Students can ask the instructor questions about the course materials or assignments. Note that one section must be completed before the next section becomes available to the student. A Certificate of Completion documenting contact hours will be awarded upon the successful completion of all assignments.


Course Syllabus:


Section 1: Researching grant opportunities from Foundations and Corporations.


Section 2: Proposal writing approaches; preparing sections of a proposal.


Section 3: Proposal writing continues with more proposal sections.


Section 4: Preparing the Letter of Inquiry (LOI).


Section 5: Budgets: Annual Organization Budget.


Section 6: Budgets: Annual Program Budget.


Section 7: Budgets: Annual Program Budget continued.


The grant writing course can be purchased on any day. On the next business day after purchase, students will receive an e-mail from the online instructor that includes Section 1 Course Materials and assignment.


Students will have 90 days to complete the course assignments. Most students take approximately 3 to 4 weeks to finish this course. If additional time is needed for any reason, a 90-day extension can be purchased.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

If the cancellation request is received within 7 days of purchase, then a 90% refund will be given. Please note that memberships and 90-day extensions related to nonprofit funding or proposal writing are not eligible for any refund when cancelled.
